Good Grief

So it would seem Yahoo is holding my e-mail hostage...I can see the subject lines in the preview but when I try to read them I get directed to the dell search page. Which brings me to the point of this entry.

"Don't promise marriage, just get out there and date!"

You know how the "I can't find the page you are asking for" screen tries to come up with alternatives for you? Well dell has decided that a viable alternative to Yahoo mail is "onlinebootycall.com". And the above would be their tag line.

This kinda makes "adultfriendfinder" look classy, doesn't it?

Love Mediterranean Style

Friday was a much looked forward to night out with my sweetie. We decided to meet in the city and check out the Art Museum's Art After 5 program. Since it was the first Friday of the Month it was also International Night. Special cultures for the evening were Turkish and Greek. The grand hall of the museum was filled with tables, a stage area was set up and the staircase was filled with people sitting and enjoying the music.

We grabbed drinks at the bar and found a spot on the bottom step to sit and listen to Animus do their thing. They seemed to be a neo-traditional Greek group. After a while dancing broke out, what I will call Greek line dancing only because they were holding hands in a line. Frank got swept up in the line and in true "Farmer in the Del" fashion I was taken along too.

And that would be how I found myself in a line of Greek women and 2 men trying to follow steps that kept changing and not let my end of the line turn into a game of crack the whip. It was actually quite fun and I laughed the entire time. At one point a woman popped into the line between Frank and I saying she just had to try this. When I made my "crack the whip" joke she said, "It looks just like the horah! Just do the horah!" I didn't have the heart to tell her I had no idea how to do that either. But it was still very much fun and I'm happy I got the chance to do it. Frank tends to make me a bit braver.

After the museum closed we wandered in search of food and decided to continue the evening in the Greek style. We ended up at Zorba's, as did a few of our fellow dancers. It really was a lovely evening and I suggest both Art After 5 and Zorba's to anyone who's feeling a like an evening of something different.

Whoo Hoo!

Yay because we have a new, uncontested president!
Yay because he isn't crazy!
Yay because he makes sense and I think really cares about the duty of the office, not the prestige of the title!
Yay because we won't start WWIII with Russia due to a hockey mom!
Yay because Sara Palin can go back to Alaska and freeze!
Yay because I don't have to move to Canada now!

Halloween Just Keeps Going!

I hope you all had great pumpkin days (hee hee)

Friday night was the annual pumpkin carve at Monie's. Our very own Shaun of the dead was toasting seeds when Gypsy Rose Pappas, the Furry Pimp and I arrived. I decided to embrace my inner bear...at least I was warm! Frank and Connie joined Steph and Shannon in gutting and carving some squash. I decided to abstain this year, as I was covered in whitish fur and knew I'd end up with guts all over it.

Dan-Bear provided ambiance with his musical selections, and somehow the only picture I managed to get was of his butt. Go figure. Shannon joined us from Spain as a Venetian Blind and proved a champion pumpkin gutter. We ended the evening watching/mocking Warlock and enjoying warm cider.

Saturday was the Wentzel Halloween Spooktacular in Boyertown. Since I'd almost suffocated on fur the night before and it was about 20 degrees warmer I opted for going as a cat...with purple hair. Frank shed the pimp duds and reprised his roll as Death, which gave an older gentleman pause as he pulled into his parking spot at the Acme. I'm not sure if it was my hair that made him give that look or if he thought his time was up, but either way it made Connie laugh her butt off. Connie was our resident gangster for the day, complete with brass knuckle earrings.

Jill was our yippee ti ie aye hostess and Dan was a man for all seasons, or at least most. Clan Lester came with the littlest pirate I've ever seen, complete with mustache. Julia Rose, who does a fierce dog impression, ended her visit by chasing me around the house, and at one point Frank. John and Dianna arrived a dice, and regulation dice at that! Adam was a partial dimensional shambler, having been forced to shed his hood as it scared the children.

Much to our surprise it turns out one of the new teachers at Jill's school is someone who Connie knows, and I do too from back in the Jenkintown days. Small world!

There was much laughter, many stories and so much horribly good food I don't want to think about it! Another fantastic Halloween season has come and gone...Bring on Friendsgiving!

November

Sacrifice:

Your role may be thankless, but if you're willing to give it your all, you just might bring success to those who outlast you.
